2022 Pizza Slice Wars

The 2^nd Annual Torrington Pizza Slice Wars was held on Tuesday, November 1st, with over 300 who joined the YMCA and Bad Dog Brewery for a fun night of pizza and beverages to raise funds for YMCA financial assistance. Bad Dog Brewer generously provided their beautiful venue and a complimentary beverage for each attendee. And 9 area pizzerias generously provided pizzas for this benefit, which included servings of cheese, peperoni and a specialty.

Each of the 9 pizzerias were blind assigned a number each round and the pre-determined selections for each serving plate allowed for each pizzeria to go head to head with each other pizzeria.

Those in attendance were able to sample three slices of pizza during each round and voted which of the three they liked best. Ballots were collected and tabulated by the accounting firm Petrovits Patrick Smith & Co.

Since tasters were not necessarily neutral and did not taste all pizzeria slices, the results of this evening are not intended to be a “Voted Best of Torrington.” Our intent was to have a fun evening to raise funds for families in need and to show case Bad Dog Brewery and our wonderful Torrington area pizzerias.

After each round, we shared what pizzerias were which numbers, so that participants can visit and purchase from these pizzerias.
