Camp Torymca

Let kids be kids again this summer! Camp TORYMCA is a planned fun-filled summer for children in grades 1-6 held at the Torrington Y. The camper’s day consists of core camp activities, camper-chosen electives, and daily outdoor play to help each child build confidence and try new things.

2025 Dates: June 23 – August 14
Eight 1-Week Sessions
Monday-Friday: 9 am – 4 pm • Grades 1-6
Camper Extended Care is Available.

CORE CAMP ACTIVITIES

Arts & Crafts: Campers will be able to find their inner artist and let imagination flow. We will learn new crafts and explore many different art forms.

Group Games and Physical Fitness: From court to field games, campers will participate and interact each day in organized group activities to keep them moving and help build the skills needed to work as a team.

Camper Readers: 30 minutes per class consisting of shared and independent reading.

Camper Chosen Electives: Sports, art, dance, and drama are a few of the activities to choose from.

Swimming: Each day campers will take a trip to our heated indoor pool with a swim instructor and lifeguards present in addition to our camp staff. We will also take trips to nearby Elks Pond this summer where we can swim in its picturesque pond and relax on its private beach.

Healthy Eating: Through a partnership with EdAdvance, we are once again pleased to offer lunch to campers free of charge. Lunch will be served with a fruit or vegetable, snack, and milk or water to drink.
