Northwest CT YMCA Ninja Training Center
The Ninja Training Center at the Torrington YMCA is an exciting, high-energy space where kids and teens build strength, confidence, and resilience through movement. Inspired by obstacle-course style training, our programs help participants develop agility, coordination, and problem-solving skills—all in a supportive, fun environment that keeps them coming back for more.
What We Offer
Ninja Warrior Training
Participants learn how to swing, climb, jump, roll, and run through a constantly evolving obstacle course. Classes focus on total-body strength, coordination, and confidence while encouraging creativity and perseverance.
Youth Functional Fitness
These classes develop cardiovascular endurance, core strength, balance, and stabilization through movements that teach kids how to safely push, pull, bend, twist, land, and move with purpose.
Specialty Programs & Events
From Ninja @ Night sessions to school-break programs and special challenges, we regularly offer unique opportunities for kids to test their skills and have fun in the Ninja Center.

NEW Headband Ranking System
Our Ninja Training Center uses a Headband Ranking System to celebrate progress, skill development, and leadership. As participants grow, they work toward earning new headband levels that reflect their abilities and commitment.
This system motivates Ninjas to set goals, track their growth, and take pride in their achievements—both on and off the course.
