Lasers Swim Team
Lasers Swimming is a competitive swim team hosted by the Northwest CT YMCA. We swim at both the Torrington and Winsted Y locations. Our team is made up of Boys and Girls ages 6-18 years old and range in ability from beginners to National level swimmers.
We are registered with both YMCA Swimming and USA Swimming giving opportunities to all levels of swimmers.
Over the past several years, we have produced multiple team records, league champions, New England Champions, Eastern Zone qualifiers, YMCA National qualifiers and have sent several swimmers on to continue swimming in college.
Our program is technique driven in the lower groups with more endurance training introduced as athletes advance from one level to the next.
Please note: to join Lasers, you must have or become a Youth or Teen Facility Member.
Practice Schedule:
Bronze:
Monday 5-6pm (Winsted), Wednesday 5-6pm (Winsted), Friday 5-6pm (Torrington)
Silver:
Tuesday 5-6pm (Winsted), Wednesday 6-7pm (Winsted), Thursday 5-6pm (Torrington), Friday 6-7pm (Torrington)
Gold:
Monday 6-730pm (Winsted), Tuesday 6-730pm (Winsted), Thursday 530-7pm (Torrington), Friday 530-7pm (Torrington)
Senior:
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 5-7pm (Winsted), Thursday & Friday 5-7pm (Torrington)

1. 2026 SUMMER Bronze (11 & under) Full Pay
Bronze Level: Ages 6-11. With a strong focus on technique, these beginning competitors will also start to build endurance. Swimmers should be able to complete one length of the pool.

3. 2026 SUMMER Silver (9 & over) Full Pay
Silver Level: Ages 9 & over. While continuing to work on stroke refinement, these swimmers will increase their endurance and practice time. Swimmers should be able to swim Freestyle and Backstroke for two lengths of the pool as well as being able to dive in.

Senior participation takes advantage of the greater time commitment to create an endurance base while refining technique, as well as include significant strength training.
